Animal and pet portraits
A collection of animal paintings done by me. Often quirky, sometimes silly,...
Artist Statement
"My paintings are typically characterised by bold colours and illustrative realism. I aim to make them uplifting and to make you smile because the world is miserable enough! They can take to to a beautiful, peaceful, happy place or they can make you chuckle with their humour. Sometimes they capture the awe of nature, such as in powerful seascapes.
I paint a lot of pet portraits as commissions but have also been asked to create artworks of garden views and boats.
I love teaching art too as it’s a genuine chance to share the joy that being creative can bring.
I hope you like what you see and use the chance to order securely from my site.

Biography
Wendy Brown was born in South Wales in 1968. Born into a family of fishermen and scuba divers, she spent much of her childhood at the coast.
Wendy started drawing as soon as she was old enough to hold a pencil and has been obsessive about art ever since.
Moving to the naval port of Plymouth, Devon in 1979, she soaked up all things maritime until 1986 when she went to Reading University.
After a period of time in the Food Industry, Wendy gave up her corporate career to focus on art as a tattoo artist. Since 1999 she has been creating realistic body art for tens of thousands of clients, winning several awards along the way. Throughout this time she has continued to paint regularly.
Wendy is now focusing more on painting and still tattoos part time. She has exhibited and sold in several local places and has completed many commissions for happy clients. She has a large body of work available as original oil and acrylic paintings on canvas and as prints.
Currently her paintings and prints can be seen at her tattoo room @ Sampson’s Barber and Tattoo Collective, 15, The Centre, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 1UW.
She also exhibits at Clevedon Art Club’s twice yearly exhibitions and at Bleadon Art Group’s exhibitions. Click on the groups for more information.
She now lives near Weston-super-Mare with her teenage son and two dogs. She swims regularly and travels in her campervan.
Wendy is available for commissions and as a guest speaker to present to your art group. For more information, click here.
