Life has gotten in the way a little recently. Art wise I've been busy, with 4 of my paintings currently in exhibitions in galleries. 3 are at in The Arts Quarter at Cheddar - that ends today, 31st July, so be quick. The other is in Aga Kubish Gallery in Weston-super-Mare, til 7th September 2024.
Please do support these exhibitions. They are both free to attend.
In other areas, things are more difficult. I have a close family member in ICU in Plymouth so I am there currently. Its tough, but not as tough as it is for him. My usually positive, happy mindset is struggling. Yesterday I was listening to loud punk music, keeping myself awake on the 380 mile drive to take my son to his dad. I found myself inspired by the lyrics to some of the songs. One, in particular, painted a very clear image in my mind. Something that depicts beauty alongside social carnage. Then I saw the news. It cemented the image in my head.
It will be my next painting. So expect something different on this occasion, something darker.
I might do a short series of paintings along this theme but at this moment I need to find time to put brush to canvas. Its mentally cathartic and calming at a very stressful time.
I hope you like what I come up with, even if it is more challenging.
