I painted this scene after many happy trips to the Costa Brava, where the steep beaches and clear green surf create waves that are both beautiful and fierce. I’ve lost count of the times I tried to exit that water gracefully — only to be swept up in the fun of it all, legs in the air and dignity out of the window!
